Student interest in US education is moving back in a direction reminiscent of the year 2000. IIE’s Open Doors reported a 25.4% increase in students from the Middle East. The region presents a unique student market from which to recruit. • Students are well qualified • Students are highly motivated and financially capable. • Places at local universities remain limited. • Governments continue to fund students through generous scholarships. The region is the least traveled by U.S. university representatives providing tour members with a unique opportunity to market their programs to students who have not been overwhelmed by visits, fairs and conversations.
