Education/Current Student Market

There were 961 students from the Dominican Republic studying in the U.S. in 2006/07. The country offers a strong undergraduate market, with the majority of students (65%) studying at this level, while 26% study at the graduate level.

Of the 190 registered students at the Linden Fall 2007 Santo Domingo fair:

• 64% wanted undergraduate study; 24% wanted Master's degrees.
• 51% were female and 44% were male.
• Business (32%) and engineering (11%) were the preferred fields of study.
• The average TOEFL score of those who took the test was 534.
