Washington Program- focus on North Africa: Washington Program 2010
May 2 – May 5, 2010
What is The Washington Program?
The Washington Program facilitates international recruitment efforts by introducing U.S. universities to key people and organizations involved in international education in Washington, DC. The program, now in its 17th year, offers visits to embassies and meetings with U.S. government officials. This year, we are inviting guidance counselors and educational advisers from Libya and Morocco to join us. A full schedule of informative briefings, embassy visits, individual time with counselors, and social events is planned for representatives of 25 U.S. universities.
Why Should You Attend?
• Leverage an important recruiting tool by relying on Linden’s access to Washington’s diplomatic, educational, and overseas communities
• Present your university to overseas counselors via face-to-face meetings
• Take advantage of Linden’s programming expertise; we make all of the arrangements so you can concentrate on productive visits
• Establish relationships with officials who sponsor international students
• Interact with your colleagues in international education
• Learn what students from selected North African countries are thinking now about studying in the United States
• Hear what the U.S. Government and NAFSA are doing to improve international student access to the U.S.
Maximum number of participants: 25
Participation is limited to campus-based representatives from universities that have worked and/or traveled with Linden Educational Services.
Cost: $1,900.00
The fee includes the Welcome Dinner, Professional Development Sessions, one-on-one meetings with overseas counselors, visits to 7 embassies of your choice (although space is limited at some embassies), administrative arrangements, and program materials. Airline and hotel costs are the responsibility of the participant.
Application Deadline: Monday, March 15.
If more than 25 representatives apply, preference will be given to 1) Linden Tour member institutions and 2) institutions which have previously participated in the Washington Program
Who are the Overseas Counselors/Educational Advisers?
